Resting in Success

I sit amongst the clutter of my life staring at my 27 inch screen contemplating…  I know I have dishes to do, trash to take out, laundry to get done, things that need putting away.  That’s ok though.  We all need to take a little time to sit back and do nothing in particular; recharge the ol’ batteries.

Too often in life we spend all of our time scurrying about, being busy with this or that.  We always have stuff to do to keep ourselves occupied.  Our schedule books are full to the brim from wake up to sleep time with the this’s and thats to do.  Is it any wonder that stress related maladies are the tops of our medical issues?

And why are we always on the go doing all of these things?  We always seem to be striving for success and to look and feel good.  Success seems to be measured by our job position, how much we make, how much stuff is accumulated.  We seem to put more stock in our outward achievement than we do on who we are as people and how we treat others.

Success should never be measured by what titles we hold, power we wield, or things we have accumulated.  It should never be measured by if our house is bigger than our neighbors, or if our car is newer, or if we have the latest tech.  Success should always be measured by how we treat others, by our character and our actions.  Real success will not sacrifice those important things for material possessions.

Mathew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul

Galatians 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
